Is New Orleans Mardi Gras Family Friendly?

Living away from New Orleans for a few years, this is probably the number one thing I heard from those that have only experienced or heard about Mardi Gras in New Orleans on Bourbon Street.

My answer is yes, Mardi Gras in New Orleans is 100% Family Friendly! The boob flashing generally only happens on Bourbon Street by tourists. The rest of us are lined up along the parade route (mostly Uptown and/or Metairie) with our kids and our friends and having a family-friendly street party. If you want to experience New Orleans Mardi Gras with kids and need ideas on where to stand, just ask. We’ll be happy to help.
